Thomas Mayer Profile

Thomas Mayer is a Berlin based performer, theatre-maker and musician from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.

His work takes a multi-media format, combining elements of physical theatre, live music
and video projection. Strongly informed by process art, he has a particular interest in creating interactive installations which explore themes around human identity, inviting audiences to engage directly with his working mediums.

His performance work is characterised by ambiguity, humour, emotional expressiveness and audience interaction. Often drawing on narrative from his own life, he aims to create very personal work which embraces experimentation and inclusiveness, offering space for audiences to be themselves, to celebrate vulnerability and reflect on their own subjectivity.

Thomas studied Devised Theatre and Performance at Arthaus.Berlin. Prior to this, Tom trained extensively in mime, puppetry and clown with various teachers across Europe.
